ESS/MSS - A user asked for screen shots of employee and manager self service.

Request:  A client asked "Can anyone provide me a screenshot of ESS and MSS pages? I am trying to give my leadership team an idea of what ESS and MSS pages look like. Any help would be appreciated."

Response:  Although you may not have a license, to use ESS and MSS, you can look at the screens in your existing emPath implementation.

Following are the steps involved:

(1)  I recommend you work in your test environment.

(2)  Find valid ESS/MSS user ids by selecting (admin > security > users).
(2.1)  Hover over the edit icon and select find.  Enter EMPLOYEE in the user class and click search. Select an employee then note the login id and the employee id.
(2.2)  Hover over the edit icon and select find.  Enter MANAGER in the user class and click search. Select an employee then note the login id and the employee id.

(3) If you find no MSS managers then select an employee and enter a manager id for that employee.  Do this on (employees > hr > organization).  This should create an MSS manager for the manager id you entered.

(4) Change the ESS/MSS passwords for your test employee and manager such that you can login as them to view ESS/MSS pages.  Do this on (employees > hr > user preferences) where you can modify the ESS/MSS password.

(5) Logon to emPath using the login ids you noted above and the passwords you just set.  The application determines what pages to show dependent on the user class of the login id used during the login process.  You should be able to view ESS and MSS pages dependent on if you loged in with an id which has EMPLOYEE as it's user class or MANAGER as it's user class.

Note that all ESS and MSS pages may not have data in them because there is some setup for a few pages.  The setup directions can be found in the emPath online help by selecting "Employee/Manager Self Service" then clicking on the page you are interesting in.

Note that if readers want I will be pleased to schedule an online meeting and step you and your leadership team through ESS/MSS.  If you are interested please let me know.
